O.K. Kadokawa is officially back on my good side. (Funimation not so much, but still.) Because Sora no Otoshimono (For those of you who don’t remember is my favorite anime of all freaking time) will have its third season announced on January 26′th, just 4 days before my birthday! How do I know this? My Google Alert for Sora no Otoshimono of course! How does everyone else know this? Well apparently in a preview video for the new issue of Monthly Shonen Ace, the announcer says that there will be a big surprise announcement about it in the issue. The Ad then proceeds to show us the cover that has the announcement on it.

What an unbelievably awesome f*ck up!!!
I will be interested to see the movie and see how they get around the whole bringing back Chaos thing, even though that was the worst possible thing they could have done, all for a weak on the spot climax.

You got a problem with Funimation? I’d assume it’s with the English dub, which is honestly quite good. Sure Ikaros’s voice for like the first two episodes kinda doesn’t fit the mood, but she improves, and everyone else is actually pretty appropriate and sounds convincing.
But anyhow, hyyyyype. =)

While yes I think the English dub is terrible for multitude of reasons (there’s no Iroi Nomizu as Nymph, it’s Ikaros not Ikurus, there’s no Iori Nomizu as Nymph, Tomoki alternates between sounding like he’s 5 years old, and had been gargling rocks for breakfast, and last and most importantly there’s no Iori Nomizu as Nymph) but I don’t like Funimation right now because of this: http://www.ultimateotaku.com/2012/01/12/a-personal-hate-letter-to-funimation-and-kadokawa/

You can blame Japan for butchering Euro-origin languages, so “E-KA-ROS” is quite simply how they would properly pronounce Icarus (which ironically enough, Ikaros is actually a completely correct spelling of the associated name if you look at the Greek). When I put this in perspective, I see no reason to complain about Americans choosing to pronounce the name properly, when in reality, the Japanese never really had the opportunity to do that given their language differences. In fact I’ll just remind you to watch the beginning of Season 1 episode 7 just to make my point clearer.
Don’t get me wrong, Iori Nomizu is a fantastic voice actress, but the English VA for Nymph does an equally fantastic job capturing the aloof, petite female type of voice. When I listen to both versions, I envision the character being small, cute, and defiant all at once, and it was accomplished quite well in both languages.
And likewise, I’m not sure what else you were expecting out of Tomoki, who is a teenager who has barely hit puberty. If anything I was shocked how similar the English and Japanese voices were compared to other voice transitions from Japanese to English. Noteably just the whole exaggeratedly youthful aspect.
And I agree it’s lame that they won’t sell a BluRay version of Forte immediately, but the show still has me sold.
